Monroe Bypass, Charlotte, NC

Client: State of North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT)

Project: A new 18-mile toll road was planned to improve the congested US-74 corridor in Mecklenburg and Union Counties, near Charlotte.

Partners: SINE Wall, United Infrastructure Group

Challenges: The expressway required 37 bridges and 9 interchanges. The design required an extensive MSE wall system with custom finishes using pre-cast barriers. Additionally, the construction schedule was tightened after initial delays.

Result: The project, also known as the Toll US-74 Bypass, opened on schedule in fall 2018.
